Seasonal planning for Etsy sellers

Etsy Seasonal Selling Planner

Know what to create, list and promote before the season starts. Choose your target market and product type. The planner calculates the timing and recommends which product categories fit each seasonal opportunity.

What each phase means:
🎨 Create β€” Design and prepare your products: create the artwork, finish files and variants, define sizes, and decide what you will sell.
πŸ›οΈ List β€” Prepare and publish your products: make mockups/photos, title, description, tags and price, then publish the listings so shoppers can find and buy them.
πŸ“£ Promote β€” Bring shoppers to your live products: use Pinterest/social media, relevant promotions, review SEO, test covers and improve listings.
πŸ”₯ Strong season β€” Demand should be active; ideally your collection is already live, so focus on visibility, conversion and sales.
Category opportunity: β˜…β˜…β˜… Most recommended Β· β˜…β˜… Good option Β· β˜… Lower priority. Ratings are editorial seasonal-fit guidance, not live demand data. School, travel and commercial seasons may use planning anchors when dates vary by district, institution or year.

HOW TO READ A RECOMMENDATION

Why a season appears in your plan today

A recommendation is shown because today's date falls inside one or more editorial planning windows for the selected market and product type. The engine separates Create, List and Promote because a seller who is still designing needs a different action from a seller whose products are already live.

Timing fit: Is today inside a useful preparation, listing or promotion window?
Market fit: Is the seasonal event relevant to the country you selected?
Product fit: Digital, POD and physical products receive different lead-time assumptions.
Category fit: Star ratings are editorial guidance about how naturally a category connects to that season; they are not live search-volume or sales data.

Worked example: arriving at a seasonal opportunity at different stages

Imagine a digital wall art seller preparing for a major holiday. If the planner says Create now, the useful task is still product development: artwork, variants, ratios and final files. If it says List now, the priority moves to mockups, title, tags, description, pricing and publishing. When the season is already in Promote, finished products should be live and the work shifts toward visibility, conversion and merchandising.

The windows intentionally overlap. A seller does not need to stop creating the moment listing begins; finished products can be published while the rest of the collection is still being produced.

What this planner does not claim

It does not report live Etsy search volume, competitor sales or official marketplace deadlines. Holiday dates, school calendars and event anchors can change, and some seasonal demand varies by audience. Treat the plan as a production framework, then combine it with your own shop data, trend research and marketplace analytics.

How the dates work: the engine stores relative planning rules internally (for example, β€œstart 8 weeks before”). The interface always converts those rules into concrete dates so the seller never has to count backwards manually. Seasonal demand anchors and planning windows are editorial planning markers, while official holiday dates are treated separately.
